Science To Go specializes in creating an interactive, hands-on science experience for elementary school students. This includes a complete science curriculum, environmental education materials tailored to school sites, WASL practice materials and staff science training. Our goal is to have students explore, ask questions to find answers giving them a deeper understanding of the world that surrounds them.
We consult on Outdoor study sites, developing trail guides, resource materials, field studies, environmental education curriculum for both students and teachers.
Science To Go lessons:
- are aligned with the Washington state EALRS. Lessons cover the entire ISD science curriculum, but do not duplicate materials already used by the classroom teachers (i.e. Highline Kits).
- require active participation of students. By providing materials, science equipment and guided lab assignments, we offer an active learning environment where a child becomes a scientist.
- incorporate knowledge and reasoning skills that are vital for the Science WASL.
- involve a systems approach, discussing characteristics, structures and function and applying system change, adaptation, and environmental influences. Final discussions, involve applying student knowledge to the world around them and finding solutions for “real world” problems.
